Sr. COLLABORATION POST!!!!

Like all you performers, I'm up a bit of a creek, in that we really all only have part of a night, if that, to nail down songs for our sets.

Specifically, I'd like to do two originals:

"Whisper"--Em Jane, me, Terry, Patrick, Kraig, et al.

"It's the time of Day when you are near"--Em Jane, me, Terry, Patrick, Kraig, et
al.

"Our love is here to stay" (Gershwin)--Em Jane/Kass, me, Terry, Patrick, Kraig,

What I'm searching for in those 3 tunes is the sort of tasty "jazz trio + vocalist" sound that I grew up with.  Like brushes on snares, chromatic walking bass, so-called "altered" chords, understatement.

Then to rip it up, I'd like to do a collaborative blues tune (probably in G or Gm), 8+ minutes, with multiple rides: talent would be OCC, Joel, Sully, Terry, the Tenorio bros., the girls, me--Kirby and Dee, the Saggy Bottom boys, Drew???

Know what I'm sayin'?

Now, with ALL your help, I'm hoping to get a facsimile of that set up and running.  The first 3 tunes are pretty much non-negotiable, but I've got ideas past a blues, for things like Take 5, Summertime, lots of tunes with a jazz flavor.  Stay tuned, and get ready to lend your talents to my set.

Sr.

(P.S. I'm working on lead sheets with chords and vocals or just chords as we speak.  Terry and I are figuring he could do bass on his Fender Rhodes (!) in place of my upright, which I'm going to play or get played at least to get it in the collective consciousness.)
